Life, Lately

20.3.15

It’s autumn – one of my favourite seasons -, it’s exactly a week before my birthday today, and right now, life is superb.

Today deserved a Life, Lately post, just because.

1 / since Kevin and I still – and probably won’t, ever while we’re here – have the Internet on in our house for ridiculous reasons, I have been reading a heck of a lot.  Particularly a lot of Rainbow Rowell (I say a lot; I actually mean two books).  I enjoyed them both.

Emma from The Earth Through a Lens recommended Fangirl a while ago now, and I finally got around to reading it and I loved it. Thanks Emma! Once I completed and fell in love with Fangirl, I had to get Eleanor & Park also by Rowell, and I loved that, too.

I am currently reading The Two of Us by Andy Jones and he, too, is brilliant.

2 / yesterday I had time to myself to treat myself. I had a bath, and decided to paint my nails – I haven’t done that for quite some time – and it felt nice. Specifically because I was feeling rather anxious for no apparent reason.

3 / this one is a little more – okay, a lot more, - exciting. Since it is my birthday in exactly a week, Kevin purchased something very, very special for me. But I won’t say what it is yet, but you can probably already guess what it is from the last picture.

But I can assure you, after Wednesday sometime, you will know and find out and (if you’re like me), you will fall in love just as much as I did!

Life, Lately + Merry Christmas!

27.12.14

Christmas has come and gone. And to be honest with you I am a little sad it has already come and gone. Is it weird that I am already excited for the next year?

Being the worst blogger that I am, I didn’t document a lot of my Christmas. Even when I did try to, the lighting was either excruciatingly terrible or I was too busy and/or excited to pick up my camera. So, I do apologise for my lack of festive pictures in this post. I promise I will try harder next time.

Nevertheless, Christmas was wonderful. It was well spent with family and Kevin and no different from any other year, I was thankful for everything I was gifted – which I will share another time.  I do hope you had a fantastic Christmas, and even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, I hope that you had a fantastic day otherwise.

Since this is a Life, Lately post I did want to share with you what I have been up to lately. I will try and keep it short and sweet:

+ as you know, Christmas came around and I have been extremely busy buying gifts for loved ones and spending a lot of time with friends and family.

+ Also, I would like to note that throughout the month of January, you will be seeing less of me.

I have a lot going on at the moment, which I would love to share with you but I can’t just yet. It is kind of something that I am keeping to myself until I am ready to share with you, but I promise you it will be worth the wait. I hope.

+ however, I will be posting after New Years Eve to wish you all a safe and happy New Year and of course what I got from Santa!

And that’s all I wanted to say.

Again, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, or day, and I will see you soon!

Life, Lately

11.10.14

I promised you my “Anxiety” post next, and I still hold that promise very close to me. It’s coming, I swear. I just wanted to sit down with you over a lovely cup of coffee or tea (or your choice of beverage) and fill you in on my life lately.

I have been back into reading again. Oh, how I’ve missed reading. Although the books I read aren’t very thought provoking – at all – it’s always a pleasure diving into a world fill with fiction and literature.

“You Had Me at Hello” by Mhairi McFarlane is what I am reading in case you were curious. It is your typical romance, nearly predictable novel, but I enjoy it. Guilty as charged.

More excitingly, I have something so, so beyond thrilling to share with you!

On the 3rd of September, which was now over a month ago –holy cow –, I was contacted via Facebook asking if I do “photography”. I was hesitant at first because one, I did not know this person and two, I wouldn’t really classify myself as a “photographer”.

I don’t undertake photography classes, nor am I a professional by any means. And I said exactly that. To my absolute surprise they responded with “would you be interested in trying it out?” and of course by now I was freaking out and was immediately intrigued.

My first photography gig?

And yes it very much did turn out to be my first photography gig. For a 21st, but it was a start!

Leading up to the night I was obviously nervous but at the end of the night I was so happy with the results that I was so keen on my next gig (which will be at the end of this month or the beginning of the next month).

So let’s raise our glasses (or cups) to new beginnings and an exciting future ahead!

Cue the violins and sweet piano tunes, but I would not been able to do it without you. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for your underlying support.

Life, Lately

30.8.14

A lot has been happening lately.

University, mostly, but it really feels like days have gone by so fast that I haven’t even had enough time to grasp onto them and really take it in. Which is unfortunate.
I hate asking myself “where has the day gone?” because it really feels like I have wasted a day, a week, and a month even.

But hopefully I will be back on track now that I am on break for two weeks. Two weeks to catch up on my blog and yours!

For now, here are some things that I have been up to:

+ spending as much time as I can with the people who make me happy

+ I got my nails did, finally. And I love them

+ a little reminder that spring is on it’s way very soon. In fact, on Monday! I’m too excited.

I hope you are all well. I miss you too much!
