Enchanting, inspiring and completely and unreservedly saddening
– this is how I would describe John Green’s novel The Fault in Our Stars in three simple words.
After continuously badgering Kevin about seeing the film The Fault in Our Stars after reading the
novel some time ago, he surprised me with tickets on Friday to go see the film.
Throughout the novel, I cried a river. Throughout the film,
I cried a river– even if I already predicted what would happen within the film,
I couldn’t help myself but let the tears fall.
If you’ve see it, you know what I’m talking about.
I felt as though John Green poured his heart and soul into
the novel and with the help of Josh Boone, it became a film which wasn’t a
letdown which I am endlessly thankful for. It’s hard to meet the standards of a
book being turned into a film, but it was astonishing. I would definitely watch
it again. And again. And possibly even again.
If you’re in need of a cry, please do read the novel, or
watch the film. However, I highly advise you bring the tissues. I’ve warned you!
