My Story: Anxiety II + PlusGuidance

18.2.15

It was the 27th of October when I chose to share my story with the world about my anxiety; how it came about and how it got worse.

I was a little nervous, yet excited to share with you what I have endured over the years since I first began to battle with anxiety and depression. There was nothing to be nervous about. Your kind words were more than reassuring and I felt like what I did – sharing my story to the world – was more beneficial than detrimental. I’m happy I did it and I can’t thank you enough for the kind words you left behind. I will always keep them close to my heart. And it was equally amazing to hear about your stories and if you still would like to share your story with me, it’s not too late, please feel free to contact me via email.

Mental health has always been a predominant factor in my life. Studying Bachelor of Counselling would have, of course, contributed to the fact that it has been a predominant factor in my life, however, needless to say, even outside of University mental health always seems to be around. A lot of people close to me throughout my life have suffered from a form of mental illness so it’s inevitable. But I don’t mind.

I’m a big advocate on raising awareness for mental health and I know how hard it can be to seek help from a counsellor. Confiding in someone who you don’t know or know nothing about can be daunting especially face-to-face. And if you feel like you are one of those people who find it daunting to be counseled face-to-face then there are, fortunately, alternatives.

Plus Guidance is one of those alternatives and a very useful one at that;

PlusGuidance.com is an online counselling platform that provides people with immediate access to counsellors and therapists from all over the world, via video call, voice call, instant messaging and email; securely and anonymously”

I personally have used something similar to Plus Guidance before and have found it very useful. If you’re interested in online counselling, or know anyone who is, I recommend to go to this website and check it out. And don't forget to check out their blog too!

And always remember that you're not alone.
