An Introduction | Healthy Habits

11.12.14

So, if you follow me on Facebook or Instragram – which I totally think you should! – you would know I have become a slight health freak.

I have come from someone who would not worry about their calorie, fat and sodium intake into someone who obsesses over how much they are taking in. And although it is very, very difficult at times I am actually beginning to love my new lifestyle and my ‘new’ self.

I think it would be necessary and significant to share with you as to why I have become this ‘health freak’ as I call it? Well, exactly nearly a week ago on Wednesday, 3rd of this month I woke up one morning unhappy with my body and health, so I changed it. As simple as that.

The very next day I set myself a ‘weight loss challenge’ and because of it I have lost nearly 3kg (6 lbs.) just a little over a week. Which is a huge accomplishment for me.

The pictures above are only the few fruits and drinks I eat and/or drink on a daily basis and while I am still craving the odd cheeseburger here and there, I am truly enjoying this journey so far.

As for Healthy Habits, I think it is going to be a new “series” on my blog. As often as I can I will update you on my journey and maybe share some recipes here and there, and I possibly may even share with you some tips and tricks with you lot!

However, please keep in mind that I am not a professional by any means with health and fitness. This is just something I am doing for myself.

If you would like to know anything about my journey so far, please do ask in the comments and I will add it to my next Healthy Habits series!

This is exciting and I hope you are just as excited as I am!

  2. Way to go!! We made big changes to our diet a few years ago- cut out processed food and microwaves and plastics and went organic- it was the best decision I ever made. I feel so much better and feel comfortable in what the kiddos are eating too!

I had really bad eating habits, but I changed my diet 2 months ago and now I'm plant-based. It's awesome to see what we are capable of

Good luck on this journey :)

  9. I used to eat nothing but bad, processed food but I'm so glad I enjoy healthy foods now, too. I'm not saying that I am in the pink of health but healthier, whole foods really do make you feel more energised and better about yourself. Your body is a temple, after all, and whatever you put in it is important. :) So glad you've hopped onto this lifestyle of good, fresh foods! The best part is you took initiative and changed it just like that. Not to mention, for yourself.
Though that being said, we can have our cheat days with sundaes and sweets too ;)
