Ho-ho-Home Decor
22.12.14
As we know, this week is Christmas. And I'm terribly excited. However, I feel as though I would be a lot more excited if I had my own house to decorate to my own desire - rather than my parents - so I thought I would share some Christmas home decor with you to show you how I would decorate my own house if I had one. And as you can see in some of these images, I like to keep it simple.
What do you like to do to your home during the holiday season?

There has been a lot happening in my life
lately, but when I do get the chance at the end of the day I like to scroll
through Pinterest – what else would I rather do, am I right? - and allow myself
to be inspired.
Lately I have been inspired by a lot of
homeware accessories, and I thought I would share with you my top 4 I found.
What has been inspiring you?

This may be untrue for others, but it is a definite fact for
me; I work better in brighter, cleaner spaces. I feel like my imagination and
creativity can run wild to its heart’s content.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a space where I can let my mind
run wild with imagination and creativity to its heart’s content, simply because
I don’t have a suitable, bright and clean working environment.
Fun fact about Jes; I do most of my University work and
anything blog related – and everything in between – in and on my bed.
Yes, I know. Working in any shape or form in and on your bed
is completely inexcusable. It shouldn’t be allowed, but I do. I do because
instead of having an organised desk, I have a vanity filled with far too many cosmetics
I don’t need anymore, and receipts that should have been thrown out a long time
ago.
And it’s time for a change.
That doesn’t mean I am going to throw away my vanity. No
way. I am in love with that baby, but I will relocate it, and replace it with a
desk sooner or later. For now, I am seeking inspiration in ways which I can
decorate my own working environment.
And these so far are my favourite in which I stumbled upon
Pinterest – oh Pinterest, you’re amazing.
Maybe this may inspire you just as much as it inspires me?

Today’s Inspired post
is going to be a little bit different.
Rather than having four inspiration photographs, and I talk
about them, I am going to base this post on one inspiration and motivator that
has been sitting heavy on my shoulders.
As some of you may know, before I gave my blog a complete
makeover, I published a post based upon my need and want to be a healthier and
fitter person. Well, can I just say, that didn’t work out as well as I thought it
would have. The very next day, I was snacking out on sugars and carbohydrates once
again and I felt discouraged with myself, but of course, I didn’t do anything
about it.
However, late night sometime at the end of last week, I was
lying in my bed and told myself I need to change. I need to. And the next day, to my absolute surprise, I did.
I have been eating well, exercising almost every day and
drinking a ton more water than what I would have. Heck, I even made effort to
go to the gym yesterday!
I feel great. I feel happier, I feel healthier.
If you ever feel like you can’t do it, trust me, you can. Persistence
is key. Every month, every year, I would try to get my mindset into a healthier
and fitter state of mind, and it was only last week I finally stuck to my guns.
So, if you ever feel like giving up, it’s okay. Just try again harder next
time. You’ll get there.
And lastly, I really think you should go over to Meg’s blog
and check out her post she recently published. It moved me, and I am so happy
to come across this post which gave me that extra push to love myself for who I
am. Seriously, go check it out. I urge you to.

I Love You Because
24.5.14
“In you I’ve found the love of my life and my closest, truest friend” - Unknown
So, just last week I was wandering around on Bloglovin’, as I do, and I stumbled upon Louise’s post I Love You Because.
Reading through the post I felt as though I related to Louise so much in ways I couldn’t explain, even if I tried. The way she spoke about how she was “quick to temper” and was quick to see her significant other’s flaws – it was almost as though Louise took the words right out of my mouth. Or mind.
And it’s true what Louise’s friend, Clare, advised “instead of a quick ‘love you!’ try saying ‘I love you because…’ It “struck a cord” with Louise, just as well it did for me, and so I felt as if it was appropriate to do the same through a blog post tonight.
Dear Kevin,
001.
I love you because you can tolerate me like no
one else has before.
002.
I love you because you take care of me when no
one else is there to take care of me.
003.
I love you because you manage to make me smile
when I’m at my lowest.
004.
I love you because you love me for who I am –
you say I don’t need make-up, or fancy dresses to impress you or to make me
look beautiful.
005.
I love you because you respect me.
006.
I love you because you trust me.
007.
I love you because you support me endlessly.
008.
I love you because when I’m beyond stubborn –
always almost – you stay with me.
009.
I love you because you understand me, and hold
me when I have my crazy anxiety attacks.
010.
I love you because you always try.
011.
I love you because you’ve turned me into an optimist
rather than a pessimist.
012.
I love you because you let me talk endlessly
about my future. The day I marry, the day I have children.
013.
I love you because you lie with me, and watch
the sappiest, sentimentalist, and foolish romantic films of all time.
014.
I love you because you’re you.
As Louise said "whoever it is you're saying, 'I love you' to, I'd encourage you to add a 'because' on there and strengthen your sentiments so much more"

I’ve been exhausted. I just completed my first term of my
second year at University, and it’s safe to say I was, and still am, in need of
a break. Hence the lack of posts. I do apologise, so today I am leaving you
with another Inspired post but bear
with me. Allow me to resurrect myself back into reality. I promise you, there
are exciting post coming very soon.
001.
Black & White photographs. I have, and
always have been in love.
There is something so beautiful about black and white photographs, don’t you think? I’ve been aiming high so I can capture the same feel about black and white photographs, but for some reason, I can’t seem to achieve the look of a “perfect” black and white image such as the one I posted. I am head over heels in love with the grain embedded into the image, and how subtle the image is itself. I mean, if you know how to achieve this exact look, be sure to comment below and let me know your secret ways!
002.
Maxi (Indie) Skirts. Oh, so fabulous.
Now, I am not your kind of gal who would wear maxi skirts, mostly because I feel insecure about my figure, and how much it would look as though I am wearing a potato sack around my waist but when I stumbled upon this baby on Pinterest, I immediately fell in love and wished I could rock this look.

003.
Freestanding baths have won me over.
For those who don’t live in Australia, you may not be aware of the
television show House Rules. House Rules, in a nutshell, is a show
where teams all over Australia, from each different state, renovate each other’s
houses, and of course, at the end there is a prize of their mortgage being
completely and utterly paid off. I’m addicted to say the least and even more
addicted to freestanding baths since there is a lot of those on the show. They
look so luxurious, and so me. I need one.
004.
Let’s escape to the mountains.
Funny story: I was scrolling through Pinterest, as I do best, and I saw this picture and little did I know this very picture is on my iPhone, as my background. I’m in awe. It’s such a beautiful photograph, and one day I hope to move somewhere nearby where I can look outside my window and wake up to this every day. There’s something so majestic about mountains, and fog, and all of the above. Wow.

What more can I say other than how proper this
image is?
I get we’re all busy with everyday life. Hell, it’s hard not to be busy as you grow older. But I really am feeling the vibe of this message. It’s important to wake up every morning, and keep an open mind to all possibilities and opportunities that may come out of that very day. Make the post of every day, and seize every opportunity that will come your way. Trust me; it’ll be so worth it.

Road trip. For quite some time now I have been
craving a road trip. I need a road
trip.
University this year has been the hardest it has ever been, which makes it very difficult to keep up with my social life, and my blog. And I hate it has to be that way. I want more free time so that I can go on a road trip, and explore. Who wouldn’t?

Interior design. Fun fact – when I was younger I
used to want to be an interior designer. But somebody once told me it included
math, and math and I don’t go well together. At all. So there went that childhood
dream.
Lately I’ve wanted to redecorate my room. Paint it white, and add more natural lighting into my room so that I can feel alive every day being in my room. Unfortunately, we don’t own our house. So I can’t.

Motherhood. This one has been sitting heavily on
my heart lately.
Before anyone states the obvious, yes, I am
well aware I am quite young to be thinking about children. However, there’s no
harm in fantasying about how my future may pan out. You see, I love children.
Not every day when I want peace and quiet, but on a good day I love children
and I can’t wait to have my own one day. In fact, not only do I want one, I
actually feel like I want five. For some this may be a crazy thought, for some
it may be completely natural. Each to their own!
